FOOTHILLS OUTDOORS

Foothills Outdoors is a non-profit 501(c)3 located in Robbins, NC

 

Our goal is to provide the opportunity for outdoor recreation and competition to the citizens of Robbins, Moore County and the surrounding communities.

 

Scenic Bear and Cabin Creeks flow thru northern Moore County and provide ample paddling opportunities throughout the year with some of the best water levels in the winter and spring.

The Bear Creek Trail System consists of over 7 miles of hiking trails for all skill levels. Trail access is located at the Water Plant and Elise School Trail heads located only a short drive from downtown.

​

Mountain biking is now allowed on the Elise Connector Trail, Gravel road, Reservoir Loop and the new 1 mile Cabin Creek Loops. These mountain bike trails are great for beginners, but also fun for the more experienced rider.

Bear Creek Disc Golf is a full 18 hole disc golf course located near the Robbins Reservoir, accessible by following the signs from the main trail head at 150 Water Plant Rd. It is one of four public disc golf courses in Moore County.

 

If you're looking for competition, the Bear Creek Race Series will not disappoint you. The trails host several 5K and 10K trail runs while Bear Creek is the site for canoe and kayak races ranging from the 1.25 mile Dam To Town Race to the 4 mile Charles E. Paddle Challenge. For the more adventurous, you don't want to miss the Adventure Bearathlon on the first Saturday in May which combines running, paddling and the famous "Special Test!"

 

Foothills Outdoors also sponsors the Brrr Creek Plunge, our version of a Polar Plunge with the added excitement of a yearly costume theme.

 

Add the North Moore Mustang Color Run, the Elise School Rubber Duck Regatta, Barnyard Bingo for the Robbins Village Theater/ Community Center fundraiser, Westmoore Middle School's Panther Prowl, as well as Highfalls Eagle's Flight 5K  and you realize Robbins is the place to be for year-round outdoor fun!

 

All donations made to Foothills Outdoors are fully tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. It is thru the generosity of donors that we are able to provide these events at low or no cost.
